Vincent M. Oweya is an accomplished legal professional with over a decade of experience in legal practice, specializing in pension and trust law, institutional compliance, and governance. He currently serves as the Head of Legal at both the Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme and the Kenya Ports Authority Retirement Benefits Scheme 2012, where he provides strategic legal advisory, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports institutional governance.

Makaya is pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree at the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Secretary finalist, a trained Legal Auditor, and holds a Trustee Development Program Kenya (TDPK) certification. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya).

A strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), Makaya is a Judiciary-accredited Mediator, having received specialized training from Strathmore University and the Mediation Training Institute of East Africa. He actively contributes to the advancement of ADR through his role as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Mombasa Law Society.
